Braden's
witch eyes give him an enormous power. A mere look causes a kaleidoscopic
explosion of emotions, memories, darkness, and magic. But this rare gift is
also his biggest curse.
Compelled
to learn about his shadowed past and the family he never knew, Braden is drawn
to the city of Belle Dam, where he is soon caught between two feuding witch
dynasties. Sworn rivals Catherine Lansing and Jason Thorpe will use anything—lies, manipulation, illusion, and even murder—to seize control of Braden's powers. To stop an ancient
evil from destroying the town, Braden must master his gift, even through the
shocking discovery that Jason is his father. While his feelings for an
enigmatic boy named Trey grow deeper, Braden realizes a terrible truth: Trey is
Catherine Lansing's son . . . and Braden may be destined to kill him.
I didn’t know what to expect from the book and I surprisingly liked this book.
My first time ever to read a book from a gay guy’s perspective- it was an awesome experience. I loved the story and how
it had me gripped right from the start. Braden
was our narrator in the book. He is a witch and powerful at that. I liked reading from his perspective. He lives with
his uncle far away from Belle Dam where he ends up after being mysteriously drawn there. He gets a shot at school life and having friends and a boyfriend in the shapes of Trey. Their relationship doesn't and can't last long as Trey is the son of his father's biggest enemy. You see, Belle Dam is a place where there is rivalry between two powerful families. Both will go to any length to use Braden as an asset. The pacing in this book was good. The characters have the tendency of leaving an impression. The plot line is quite good. It will keep you engaged. So in short, this tale of power, friendship, romance, magic and betrayal will
keep you on your toes. I am excited for the next book in this fantac series
titled 'Demon Eyes'.
I will recommend this for lovers of magic, paranormal romance and
deception.
Have you read this awesome book? What did you think about it?
Happy Reading.
