Reading Mode on Full Throttle!!!

Okay so I know I haven't a blog post in a long while... Sorry about that... But I haven't wasted it. I read loads of books... I started the 'Demon Kissed' Series by H.M Ward. I first thought H.M was a 'he'...: p but the 'he' turned out to be a 'she'. *sheepish* The Demon Kissed/ Ivy Taylor series is a multi-book series. There are expected to be seven titles in all.

I read the first book and I was hooked. Anyway, it is all about demons and angels and what not-hybrids. Well the female protagonist is one. I read the first two books in the series in two days...: p I am on the third book... But still haven't finished it… The fourth installment in the series is to be released next year.
The story follows Ivy Taylor a normal teenager like us or is she??? She is not a mortal but a Martis – Immortals turned by Angels that our here to protect humanity from Demons and the like. The book starts with her boyfriend who seems human kissing her and in turn sucking her soul out of her. The boyfriend is not a mortal but a Valefar – the demon followers...

I loved Eric – her lab partner than her Martis teacher but not much more than Collin – her best friend. The bond that is shared by the two tore me to pieces… They shared such lovely moments you have to read the book to understand it and see what I mean. Ivy fears she will turn out to be the girl the prophecy tells us about. And she does everything she can not to turn out that girl in the prophecy. The book ends with wanting us more and on the edge of our seats as we feel shattered by everything.

The sequel of Demon Kissed is titled Cursed. The second book in the Demon Kissed series was released on August 31, 2011. Cursed is available in the same formats: Paperback, Signed Paperback, Nook, Kindle, and ebook.

The story starts with Ivy facing deadly consequences of her actions from the first book and still reeling from the burden of her loss. She takes a journey into the underworld with Eric who faces an inquiry as well in not finishing what his task was but Ivy saves him. Her best friend Shannon comes with them to the underworld. The rest of the book takes place in the underworld. Ivy is betrayed by someone she least likely expects – although she has stopped very many people as she knows she is not safe from either side. This book left me wanting more yet again. : p 

There is an interesting fact about the third installment which was released November 11, 2011. The author, Holly, allowed the DEMON KISSED fans to be involved in the creation of this book. The fans chose the title and the cover for the 3rd book in this series! I am still reading it and liking it so far…

 

The fourth installment "Satan's Stone is set to release January 10, 2012"

There is also a novella about Collin who is like the main dude in the series... XP I haven't gotten my hands on it yet.

Overall what I liked about the books so far… the moments between Collin and Ivy; the scars above their eyebrows; the concepts and all. : P I will definitely be following this series.
