REVIEW | Lindsay J. Pryor's BLOOD DARK

Blood Dark (Blackthorn, #5)When it was announced that we were getting four books in the Blackthorn was over the moon happy. We are left with only two books now. The sixth book Blood Instinct released just three days ago A review for that will be up in day or two. Let's talk about Blood Dark now..

My reviews for the previous books are here and here. (If you are interested.)

Okay, so here's the thing you can't really explain how wonderful each novel in this series is.. Like you have to experience it yourself.. Because I believe that charm can only be felt by the one reading it..

It's safe to say that Lindsay keeps on being excellent in her storytelling and keeping us on our toes. Blood Dark was captivating, intense, dark(er), full of trust issues, camaraderie, action and raising the scales of our Blackthorn world.

Caitlin and Kane were the forerunners in this novel with cameos from our other beloed Blackthorn cast. You could sense the danger dripping from the pages. Caitlin and Kane explored their somewhat broken relationship with a heartbreaking journey. I was torn by their escalating trust issues. And that final goodbye that was sooo sweet but HEARTBREAKING.

Things were definitely more dire in this instalment. Jask and Sophia were our narrators in the sixth book and I was soo right about who the last couple was gonna be. It's obvious, btw.

Anyway, I loved this instalment like its predecessors and I have read the sixth and it was amazing as ever. And just I think I finally have my favorite couple decided after reading the sixth book.. Review for that coming asap.

Also, love Lindsay and this world she has created. Thank you for bringing us such an intricate world and its characters.

Guys, get on this series.

About Blood Dark:

‘There are guardian angels, and there are monsters with wings’

Caitlin Parish should have been the last person to fall for a vampire. A member of the Vampire Control Unit, her relationship with master vampire Kane Malloy had explosive consequences. Caitlin’s colleagues count her as the enemy. And now she’s going back.

Kane has made powerful enemies of his own – and is being targeted by the head of the Global Council, Sirius Throme. With the stakes higher than ever before, Kane knows caring for Caitlin makes him vulnerable. Worse, her decision to return to VCU feels like betrayal.

With Throme threatening to tear Blackthorn apart, and the prophesied vampire leader finally revealed, Kane and Caitlin must both fight with everything they have to stop an all out war. But they’re fighting on opposite sides…

Right when she needs him most, Caitlin makes a shocking discovery about Kane. Has he been playing her all along? And can she trust him with her life when he won’t even trust her with the truth?

The choice Caitlin makes will change the game in Blackthorn forever.
